Excellent point Zach. In our case, we had an amplifier installed by Comcast
in the house, and they still couldn't get the signal up to an acceptable
level.

If you're experiencing missing HD channels and/or channels that are
constantly tiling(or pixelizing), your cable's signal strength may be low.
In which case, a cable amplifier may help you out. If you have a cable
modem/box, you'll want one with an "active return path".
If you have a cable box, you can check your signal strength via the box:
- Press & hold the "Select" button on the front of the box.
- When an envelop displays on the box's screen, press the "Info" button.
- If the value for the tuner (usually in orange I think) is between -10 and
10dbm, you should be ok
- Press "Exit" to....exit
If the value is too low, you probably need an amplifier. If it's too high,
you probably need to install a splitter.

I totally agree!! I got rid of Comcast 7 years ago and have used both Dish

service here is horrible!

I canned them in March of this year. We finally broke down and bought our
first HD TV in Janurary. It was absolutely unusable. After finally getting
Comcast out here, the tech said that he was surprised that I could even get
standard TV. After a 2 month wait, and Comcast doing nothing about it, I
voted with my wallet and went to DirecTV. I keep Comcast internet, which is
ok.

Good Morning....
When we first moved into the subdivision about 3 years ago, we were warned
that Comcast service was spotty here and not recommended. We went a
different route.
At the beginning of this year, I remember seeing a number of Comcast's heavy
trucks in and out of the subdivision working on what I assume expanding
their coverage and lines...
My question is this.... To those of you who have Comcast, are there any
issues that you can share or recommend at this point....
Part B....when we had Comcast before in Alpharetta, customer service was
poor as the billing never seemed to be right....being charged for HD or
extra receivers etc that we did not have.... My wife wants no part of them
again due to the CS and billing.... I am having a hard time looking beyond
the bundle that they are offering on the Xfinity plan where you get all
three for $99 plus upgrades.....
Any feedback would be appreciated by more than myself alone I am sure.....
