Todd/Tracy
The community outreach committee chair position is open.  The committee hasn't met in years due to lack of volunteers.  If you are interested in spearheading the "welcoming basket" project or other ideas I encourage you to schedule a meeting with other interested homeowners to discuss execution and budget.

Also, the architectural control committee is in need of a chairperson and volunteers to address the many complaints and violations being reported.

For clubhouse rental contact Jeannie at 770-606-1469.  Vicki is the contact for the front entrance sign 470-336-8695.

My husband I would support turning the HOA over to a management company.  No one should be "stuck" in these positions and one of us will sincerely try to make the next HOA meeting.  I am thankful to those who volunteer their time, here is a big THANK YOU!!  I love the "welcome committee" idea and would be willing to help out on that!!

Thank you Mr. Hackler. This information is greatly appreciated. Also thanks to Mrs. Morast and Mr. Frenier. This is the kind of dialogue that needs to be happening.

I apologize to the community for starting this entire drama but I do hope that something positive will come of it and we can open up lines of communication so that we can all stay as informed as possible.

Sincerely hope that every one has a great day.

I want to apologize to the community for my delivery.  It was out of line and I feel bad about how said it using a couple of expletives.  Cursing was inappropriate on a public forum.  I however stand by my message.

Kimberly and I have lived here for seven years and love the neighborhood.  We are sad that we are being transferred.

All of the governing documents are on the website, which has recently been updated.  If I ever get home for a week, I will get the financial documents uploaded for everyone to see.  The accountability for every cent is transparent.  I still have to get with the new treasurer and transfer all of the documents to him.

The annual meeting is in October.  For the past 4 years, not more than 3 non board members attended.  According to the By-laws, we have to have a quantum of at least 2/3 of the neighborhood to have a valid election.  The current board did in fact volunteer, 7 years ago, and are now basically stuck.  I agree that hiring a management company is the thing to do, but the board gets a lot of pushback every time this is brought up.

Once again, please accept my apologies for the inappropriate language.

I'm new to the neighborhood too (just been here a month), but in my previous neighborhood, I volunteered with the HOA to be a sort of "welcoming committee" for new residents and my wife made a nice gift basket and I put together a folder of bylaws and other important info about the neighborhood and we just welcomed people to the neighborhood when they moved in.  It seemed to help with communication, especially for new people.  I also set up a free, private social network for the neighborhood through nextdoor.com.  This helped neighbors get to know each other better and is pretty user-friendly.  I don't know if there's any need for that sort of thing, but if the HOA wants, I could help do something similar here.  We plan on staying here long-term, so I'm all about building community between one another.

Totally off subject - my wife and I were taking a walk last week and found a necklace on the road.  The people who lived close by didn't lose it, so if someone can describe it in detail I will get it to you.

There is so much anger on this.  There should not be named calling or foul language on our HOA site, we are all adults so we should act like it.  Maybe the answer is an HOA management company.  We own houses at other subdivisions that utilize these, the yearly fees are no greater than here and some times you may get a little more amenities, sometimes the same but you don't get feelings of hatred, and feelings of being unappreciated. Maybe it's something the board could check into. Works great for our other subdivisions and the neighborhood isn't angry toward each other or harbor ill feelings.

Roger is so right. Stuff happens! If you don't know what your other amenities are, and what else your dues go toward, you do now!

I've kept my mouth shut, but since I'm no longer on the board, I can't take it any longer. First of all, if you knew what a moron you sound like by thinking that the ONLY amenity we have in the neighborhood is the pool, you would be embarrassed for yourself.

What does the money go for? How about the street lights, maintaining the clubhouse, maintaining the front of the neighborhood, planting of flowers, maintaining the tennis courts, maintaining the playground, not to mention having to pay attorney fees for the deadbeat neighbors who will not pay the dues? How about maintaining the access card system to keep others that don't live here out of the pool?

I have no idea why the pool was closed, and I'm sorry that you had to drive maybe a half a mile to figure it out, but I damn well know there is a good reason.

And as far as your money and a refund, why don't you volunteer to help the board run this operation instead of whining about it? Walker, Jared, and Adam all have full time jobs, families, and obligations other than making sure the pool was open when you wanted it to be.

In other words, either offer to help out or shut the hell up.

And this is not from a board member, just from a dues paying resident.

Has there been any communication as to the reason the pool is closed again? It was open, now it's not. There is no communication so I load my family in the car and fins the gate is chained. I know our HOA fees are a very small sum per year and I was under the impression that it is because the ONLY amenity we have in this neighborhood is the pool. Do we get a refund of our fees if this matter is not reconciled promptly?
