<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Good afternoon neighbors. First, you must
understand that this email is from me personally and is not associated with
the NHHOA Board Members.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'm actually replying to comments made from Scott
and Vicki yesterday about the COC Committee in which I'm Chair. They
presented the lack of the Easter Egg Hunt as a complete failure of the COC
Committee itself. We didn't have the proper resources in time to plan the
event as in years past and I take responsibility for that. HOWEVER, the
COC Committee came together less than a year ago, with limited resources, and
pulled off three very successful events each coming in at or under
budget. We were structured, had a planning meeting in September for
the events through year end with teams and budgets. We had a large
turnout for the pumpkin painting event and we had neighbors supply a
Christmas tree that is now owned by the NHHOA. The kids decorated several
ornaments each for our new tree and they can proudly be displayed every
year. The tree was FULL of handmade and donated ornaments FROM OUR
COMMUNITY. I'd even thought that I'd be proud to display that tree in
my own home! I personally enjoyed coming home and passing the
lit tree in the front window of the club house and I hope others did as
well. It's my understanding that North Hampton had never had Santa visit
the clubhouse before either. The COC had the club house beautifully
decorated for the event. We had an incredible turnout and what I enjoyed
the most was watching neighbors stay and chat over cookies and cider.
Families dressed up and made the event a photo opportunity - how can we loose
sight of such important moments? If I as Chair have somehow
disappointed the neighborhood I'm truly sorry because it wasn't the
intent. We moved to this subdivision one year ago because we fell in love
with it immediately. We met neighbors and felt a sense of community we had
desired for so very long. I wanted to improve that sense of community
in the neighborhood by bringing people together to communicate, socialize and
support each other. If that mission statement isn't a
reflection of the needs of the neighborhood, I obviously missed the mark.
But, this is not a reflection of the volunteers within the COC. Those that
participated did so fully and with great dedication and vigor.

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I cannot close this email without further
addressing the Easter Egg Hunt event (or lack thereof). This is no excuse
but my Mom had serious health issues since October of 2006. Since then, I
have spent any extra moment helping my family deal with her complicated
issues. In December of 2007, things started getting serious and her
decline steady. I had planned on having a 2008 planning meeting in January
to structure all events as we had before. Unfortunately, since Christmas,
I've been very, very distracted with her declining health and Easter snuck
up on me. On March 1st I sent out a request for help and did not get the
first response until weeks later. At that point, I was completely
distracted with my Mom and hurriedly trying to get FMLA arranged at work so
I could home for an extended period of time. My priority was my
Mom, who was my best friend, and I don't regret putting that
first. The weekend of Easter was spent preparing for my trip
because I was leaving on Tuesday. I didn't get the chance to see my Mom
again because her last day on earth was Easter day. God took her to
heaven in the very early hours the next day. I don't mean to put my
private affairs to the public but I have the strong need to explain the biggest
reason why the Easter Egg Hunt didn't occur. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>My lesson from this is to keep family first always
and I hope that during my tenure of Chair of COC your families were able to
enjoy at least one event that we sponsored. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>In closing, the Board has successfully created
several new tools for communication including the improved website and this
email broadcast. I've always tried to have an open door policy
and would have hoped that people would communicate with me if they had problems
with the COC's performance. Vicki, you came to several board meetings and
never said a word to me and your email below on the 14th gave me no
indication of your disdain. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I hope our lesson from this is to communicate
better with one another so things don't get sideways. We are a
community of families with different lives and priorities. One common
priority should be making our neighborhood the best it can be and the best
way to do this is to work together and get along.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>In closing, I'd like to share a quote from
Eleanor Roosevelt that I used at the first COC planning meeting:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>"Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss
events; Small minds discuss people". </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Let's work together for the greater good of
the community that we all saw potential in when we signed our
mortgage paperwork!</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I hope you're enjoying this rainy afternoon and
hope to see you at the annual meeting. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Best wishes,</FONT></DIV>

It seems to me a typical example of not enough participation by the
remaining home owners. There are many commitees that need support by giving
up just a few hours here and there to assist with functions like the Easter
Egg Hunt. If this neihgborhood is important to you,<STRONG> " get
involved"</STRONG> with assisting one of the committees, who are there for
the benefit of <STRONG>"all"</STRONG> homeowners, aterall.</P>
