Casually on behalf of Amy, my husband the Treasurer, and
the rest of the Board, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR KIND WORDS. I can't
tell you what they mean to all of us and they re-charge us when we're getting
weary!

As a responsible dog owner in North Hampton, I am
personally very concerned about these events and everyone should contain their
dog in their own yards. When we purchased, we put in the Dog Watch
electronic fence because the terrain made it difficult to use chain link.
We've been thrilled with it and it was 1/4 of the cost! The only negative
is that our dogs are contained on the property but it doesn't stop other dogs
from coming in. We all need to watch for troublesome dogs and remind the
owner of immediate restraint requirements. I have a rescue and
an adopted so I'm sensitive to placing an animal in the "system". But, if
given no choice, we must to protect ourselves, our animals, but most importantly
our neighborhood children.

get when walking it. We must have the ability to peacefully get our
exercise without fear of harm.

WOW!!! How scary!! I know that our new hoa officers have been diligent
in making our neighborhood a safe and enjoyable place for all homeowners to
live. My husband and I really appriciate all of their efforts, our
neighborhood has alot of new things to look forward to. I am not aware
of any policies in this neighborhood to protect us from unleashed pets,
although I do know that there are county laws in place. Is there an officer
who is in charge of this? If not can we create a position to enforce lease
laws and a person we should call to report violations?

Recently I have
had a neighborhood dog charging onto my front porch and viciously barking at
my dogs thru the window, this has happened more than once (same dog) and one
time the owner of this dog witnessed it and did nothing. This usually
happens around the time the school bus lets out as the dog owner is waiting
outside for her child. So please be aware your children are at danger. I am an
animal lover but I do not appreciate people allowing their pets to roam free.
It is not fair to the animals to put them in this dangerous position. If you
do not want to walk your dog on a leash, then you must BUILD A FENCE! It is
the right thing to do for your animal AND your neighbors safety.

In the future I do plan on calling animal control, although it breaks my
heart to think of putting any pet thru that frightening process. I grew
up in a family that loves animals but also practices their right to bear arms.
When a pet turns aggressive there is no choice but to prevent this from ever
happening again. If an unattended and unprovoked dog bites, it is a dangerous
dog. I speak from past experience when I say that I sincerely hope that
no one in this neighborhood must go thru losing a pet in this fashion as it is
a heartbreaking experience for all involved.

I think this is an
important issue. If any of our officers or any other homeowner has suggestions
on how to address this issue please let us know.

thank
you,
Jennifer Kodey
32 Centerport Dr.

This morning I was bitten by a dog. I
feel it would benefit our neighborhood to let everyone know there are leash
laws in Bartow County and if a vicious dog bites one of your neighbors
you can be sued. There are many children in our neighborhood and I was
so shaken up that a dog would charge me in my own yard and bite me.
Although it could have been much worst, it could have been a child. I
didn't run and I tried to tell both dogs to stop looking them in their
eyes. I had watched a show about dogs attacking and it said don't
run. The two big dogs keep coming at me barking in my driveway.
I did it again and they seem to stop, but when I turned around the Boxer
jumped at the back of my knee with it's teeth. I screamed for my
husband and then they ran home. It was a neighbor two houses
down from us. After a little investigating I found out that these dogs
have tried to bite another née ghbor, while they were walking their
dog. It is so important to keep your dogs away from other people,
while they can be friendly to your family, they can attack other people
outside your family. I did go to the hospital and I did have to get a
shot and antibotics. The hospital said it is the law that animal
control must be called if you are bitten. There is protection for the
victims of dog bites in Georgia and it is on the internet. I feel the
hoa could help protect their neighbors by having a fee, if your dog is
roaming the neighborhood often and bites. I would also encourage any
neighbor if you see roaming dogs call the animal control and let your
neighbor know your dogs are out. This could have been a very dangerous
situation for a child and it was not a pleasant experience for me. I
now have a fear of being out in my front yard or walking the neighborhood
with my grandchildren. I would like everyone to know being a good ne
ighbor means keeping your pets under control and protecting all the young
children in our neighborhood from roaming pets.
