[Nhhoa] Hello Everyone, Wanted to let you know signs wi...

I was willing to do it myself.....then was told it would be handled.
At the time that Amanda was present and discussing this, there
were others at our sale that I was assisting as well so, no, it
was not the right time then either....  And yes, I will complain when
a job is not done that directly affects me.  If she can write a community
email to blame others on why the signs were not up, should it not
be known that she was out shopping instead of fixing it??  Ice the cake
however you want Allen, but the problem here is not me.
I have served on HOA boards and know the responsibilities well, as I
often let them fall on me and not someone else.... IF YOU SAY YOU
ARE GOING TO DO SOMETHING, DO IT....that is all that I am asking....

And to say that the typical response of the resident is to complain but not offer assistance....  You can address that with me directly rather than calling out the rest of the subdivision.  Whenever the next sale is, if you call me and ask me to put up signs and I agree to do it, guess what...it will be done....well before you see me shopping.... and no excuses....she knew she did not have the signs last night....Plan B??

Nice try, turn it around on me.... that always fixes the issue right??

I knew that would be the typical response.....  Did you not see where I asked that if signs were going to be up??  Did you not see where I said I was going to buy the materials but then was told that they would be placed.....  My point is this....do not come out and say you will do something and
then not do it....and then compound the issue by blatantly ignoring the need and shopping while it could be fixed....  Let's call a spade a spade here Allen and not try passing the blame....

So, no, I am not willing to help out in the future....  My yard sale is today and tomorrow and it will be some time before we amass enough to have a sale again.  To whoever it is that is responsible now or in the future on any event....do not say something is going to be
done and then not only not do it, but then make no effort to correct it.....that is incredulous and irresponsible...

Amanda.....

I was already planning to have a yard sale on Saturday.  We have been working at a consistent pace for about 2-3 weeks getting things ready.  This is the proper amount of time it takes to prepare in my opinion.... Coincidentally, I see the community message board on Tuesday night driving in stating that there would be a community sale on Friday and Saturday.  When I got home, I emailed the group and asked if there would be signs up and posted as I was about to purchase materials for our intended sale on Saturday.  The
 responses
in the emails came back that there would indeed be signs posted.

My wife and I continued to work our tails off to get everything ready a day earlier due to the lack of notification of the community sale.  Being that there was not a time posted in the paper, we had people in our
driveway at 6:30 this morning.  I then find out from people at the sale that there were not any signs on the roads until you got to the subdivision.  People actually were telling us that we would get a lot more traffic if there were signs up on 411.

Then of all people to show up at our yard sale....our new COC Chairwoman herself with excuses that the signs were not found as they were locked up somewhere else???  If you are the chairwoman and the signs are not found by the night before, as the chairperson, take the responsibility on and go make signs and have them posted as promised.
I was extremely upset that there were not signs....and then for salt in the wound...you show up shopping the sales instead of fixing the problem and getting the signs out ASAP instead of getting around to it tonight.

And if that is not enough of a wound......you then go on to say "we might have
another one because everyone did not get the word in time".....with a could care less attitude as you did not have your efforts being affected today.  Do it right once, or do not do it at all.  I try not to be one to complain and see the good in all things, but there comes a time when things need to be said.  Do not come to my home and toot your horn about a block party that has passed when that same time could be spent fixing a wrong in the present.

We have had a good day with sales today.... I am not complaining about that....the simple fact is that we could have done even better and been in clearance mode at this point is what irks me...   As the saying goes, you will never please all the people all the time...this very much holds water.....but to come to the well without a bucket is the way it looks like this was handled.  SO,
from all of this, three things....

1. need for better organization  - earlier warnings to the subdivision (2-3 weeks at a minimum for preparations and max participation)
2. need for better execution - signs and posters posted, times given
3. need for ownership - if it can be fixed, fix it...do not continue with excuses as to why it is/was not done

Ready at 6:30 AM tomorrow,

Ty Hudson
