Surely someone knows someone who needs a friend? This is so sad! I had to send it to someone or I'd just feel terrible!

On Sunday a beautiful pure lab was found. He's male, black, about 100
lbs, with an amazingly sweet disposition (mushy, teddy bear to be exact).
He's was gentle with my 8 yr old son & one of my dogs. Animal Control
said he was about two years old. He is not neutered. I searched every
site on the web to see if someone was looking for him, but to no avail. I
called all of my friends to try to find him a home, but that didn't work
either. He has a beautiful black, shiny coat. We cannot keep him as we
already have two rescues dogs & one of my rescue dogs is very needy as she
is 13 & has severe hip/joint problems. Please help this beautiful animal.
We checked to see if he was chipped, but apparently the owner doesn't
believe in collars, tags, or chips. Apparently he has been in our
neighborhood for a little over a week. I turned him in because I fear
that because he is black he would get run over, plus rain is in the
forecast & I don't think any animal should be out in the pouring rain.
When my husband gets back, I will send you a picture. He walks
beautifully, staying very close to one's side. He knows how to shake, but
doesn't know the sit command. He's very smart. Animal control said he
has six days beginning on Sunday 2/24/08 before he is killed. He is at
the Lawrenceville Animal Control & was registered under the name Cross.

If you cannot help, but know of a group or individual that can, please
forward this desperate plea on.

Suzanne

Here are some pictures of the beautiful black lab turned into the Gwinnett
Animal Control office. He is very sweet & lovable. They told me on
Sunday he would have 6 days until he is killed. He is registered under
the name of Cross & was turned in on Sunday, Feb. 24.

He is a purebred lab (that is what animal control told me) & is about two
years old. He was found to be great with an 8 year old boy & other dogs.
Very calm, smart, & sweet.

Please consider adopting/rescuing this sweet animal,

Suzanne
